So…
August 27, 2006 on 5:37 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsSo this is my first blog entry, and I really don’t know what I am doing. I don’t know how to upload pictures, and to be honest, I don’t even know if this is going to post. But, I thought why not write it anyway. So there really isn’t to much going on right now. It is Sunday and I have duty today, which really sucks, but what can you do.
The latest word that I heard about the next deployment is we are going to leave the middle of January. Don’t exactly know where we are going, but when can I really say that anyway. I will be home around Christmas or New Years, I don’t know which one right now, but it will be one or the other. My plan right now is to drive up the coast to Washington, and then over. I found someone on the ship who is from the flathead area, so we will be driving home together. There is a slight possibility that I will be home towards the end of October, but I don’t know yet. That is still up in the air.
I think that I figured out what I am going to do when I get out. I am going to go home and live with Mom and Dad (them permitting it at least) for about 6 months and work. I am then going to head out to Europe and backpack around there for about 4-5 months. I have been looking at that a little bit. I haven’t really figured out the details yet. I figure that it will cost about 6 or 7 grand plus air fair. I don’t know though. Then after that, I am on my way to Australia. I know that you are all probably laughing at that right now, because I am too. Those are my big plans for the time being.
Other than that, I haven’t really been doing much. Oh yeah, Travis came out here for a weekend so I got to see him for the first time in about 2 1/2 years. He was supposed to be out here longer, but he wasn’t given any orders by his command to be going to the school.
I hope that everyone is at least a little happy that I have finally put something on the family web site. Love you all
Timmy
Celebrations and Bugs
August 21, 2006 on 6:41 pm | In Bett's, Funny Kid Stories | No CommentsSo you can better visualize my last email, I uploaded Eli’s climbing pictures. Today he climbed the stairs outside. He is not supposed to have this ability for another few months. I do not want him to be better able to get into things he should not. A couple days ago his ability to move and climb brought him to the patio where he ate at least two rocks and one weed before I caught him. Today he discovered his sister’s high chair and now pulls himself up in front of it so he can pick off and eat the foods she has left on her seat. So in a way, Eli is eating solids, though not quite the ones I would chose for him.I so did not have this problem with Hannah.
Hannah had a “bug” in her ear the other night, which made her cry. We figured out she had an ear infection and the fluid in her ear sounded like the buzz of a bug. So we candled the ear, put garlic drops in, and cuddled her.
Conversation later that night:
Hannah: Ee-ah (ear). Bug.
Us: Yeah. There was a bug in your ear. Where’s the bug now?
Hannah: Bug gone.
[Repeat this conversation about 6 or 7 times. Then later]
Hannah: [rubs her blanket fringes in Mommy's ear] Frin-nez (fringes). Ee-ah. Hut. (hurt) Bug. Ah-gone.
In other words, Hannah’s fringes blanket has the power to heal ears and remove the “bugs.”
Ahhh…finally a break
August 15, 2006 on 11:09 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsAfter working long hours for low wages on a project that was extremely challenging, I’m finally finished with it. I now have an art directing credit on my resume. For those of you who don’t know, the art director normally oversees the realization of the production designer’s vision. In this case, we had two of us in the department, the production designer, and me. That meant that we were both very involved in virtually all aspects of the design and realization. She did more in the design aspect, and I oversaw the finances.
The movie was called One of Our Own. The other movie I’ve worked on since moving here is called Crossing Paths.
Hopefully something new and exciting will come along soon. I’m enjoying the work I do.
Miki’s first daughter
August 15, 2006 on 8:50 pm | In Bett's | No CommentsHannah’s auntie Holly was over tonight, and was trying to figure out who Hannah looked like in the new pictures we took of them on Sunday. Upon investigation, we realized that Hannah does not look all that much like any relative of mine, but rather quite a bit like her auntie Miki. So Miki, I think if we switch our daughters, people might believe us when we say that this little girl is our daughter. I included the old pictures along with the Sunday pictures in the family photos section.
A note on the Sunday pictures: Hannah did some finger painting which rapidly turned into body painting. She washed off in the swimming pool outside, and Eli joined her. He ate dirt, and that is why his face is also streaked.
