Strange Happenings

August 20th, 2008

We visited the zoo today, and carried the boys into the butterfly garden.  Both boys were kind of tired, but they find the stroller relaxing, but strollers aren’t allowed into the garden.  Paul reached out to touch one of the many flowers, the flower waved when he touched it, and he started shaking in fear.  The rest of the time in the garden, he would shake and grab onto me every time he reached to touch a flower or leaf.  It was the strangest thing!

Lucas has been very clingy this week.  Although I’ve only been working the mornings so far, he clings to me when I come home and cries when I put him down for the first hour or so that I’m home.  This is completely unusual - they apparently entered the “away-from-mommy” anxiety stage at the exact moment I went back to work.  Paul has been showing his anxiety by crying when his milk is offered to him in a sippy cup.  He’ll only drink from a bottle (they have been weaned off their lunch time nursing).

Another strange happening…there was another accident on our corner this afternoon.  A teenager appeared to miss the stop sign and got hit from an SUV.  No one injured, but the SUV was towed away.  The second accident we’ve seen since we moved in less than 3 weeks ago!
